SXSW The South by Southwest film & music festival happens over spring break every year in clubs across South Austin. If you're a live music/indie film fan, I highly reccommend it... and that's an understatement if I ever made one. The School of Music at Texas State University-San Marcos I'll be going here in the fall, studying to be an audio engineer under the Sound Recording Technology major. Josh's Site My ex-boyfriend's brother Josh recently made this website... it's about playing bass and good stuff like that. The Darkside A friend of mine's online art community and gallery. Cara Mitten's Art Gallery This is the website of a fabulous artist that I love. She's not very popular, but I admire her unique style and phenomenal imagination. I would have to say that her art has been the inspiration for much of my own work. Harley-Davidson Motorcycles This is a great source for all things Harley-Davidson; it's of course the company's official site. Not a particularly aesthetically appealing site though. Badali Jewelry Handcrafted jewelry is something I love, and this jeweler does wonderful work. They have particularly beautiful "Lord of the Rings" themed items. Good Charlotte This is my favorite band's official website. Good Charlotte isn't exactly the best band ever, nor do I like their music more than anything else in the world, I just happen to really like them. (It's a long story) A Modest Proposal, by Jonathan Swift This is a particulary interesting piece of literature. How to Dance Punk It's a funny guide to "dancing punk." Even though it's mainly for entertainment, everything written on this page is actually really good advice. The Lord of the Rings The official website of the Lord of the Rings motion picture, it's got quite a bit of interesting information... and lots of cool downloads. The Barrow Downs A great Lord of the Rings fansite; it's full of interesting things to do and read. Blast! This is an outstanding musical group that tours on broadway, and I saw them at Bass Concert Hall a couple years ago... it was incredible!! To describe them, they are much like DCI (below)... but with more of a theatrical feel. Drum Corps International A definite must see if you are at all a fan of marching band. This is the central for drum corps, it's like High School marching band minus the woodwinds. Plus all the members are dedicated musicians. I usually go to the Southwestern Championships in San Antonio every July. |
