Battlefield 1942.
When I first heard about BF1942
I thought it wasn't going to be a big buzz because no one was talking about it. PCgamer was covering Warcraft3. Computer gaming world was covering the new Rainbow 6 releases (and so on and so fourth). Finally Pcgamer did a preview page of BF1942, and I thought, "Eh that doesn't look so fun". PCgamer only showed a couple pics of bad-grahpic landscape and someone in the back of a plane shooting at some houses. A few weeks later EA Games released a BF1942 Multiplayer demo. Ever sense, this game has owned my life. I downloaded & installed the demo and jumped into a game. I respawned on a ship thinking (like most games) it's computer controlled. But no, someone is really driving it! From that day forward, this game rocked!! It not only has destroyers to drive, it has Planes, Jeeps, Tanks, More boats, Subs, Heavy artillary and more. A few weeks later I bought the full version and it just keeps getting better. The maps are HUGE! And a blast to play on! Not only that, people actually use teamwork! But, like all games it's not perfect. BF1942 has Steep system requirments  (I have an amd duron 1.3 ghz, A radeon 9000, 512 megs of ram and more good stuff and it still runs choppy) and it really gets bad when you have 35/60 players with you. So if you want to get the best out of this game you are going to have to have a pretty high-end system to get the job done right. And singleplayer? Forget about it. It is really laggy, the AI stinks and it's way too easy so just stick with multiplayer. But EA games is working hard on patches/fixes to get singleplayer up and running right so watch out for those patches coming out in a few months (I hope).  Other then these small problems this is truly a great game!!
FINAL VERDICT:
92% HIGHS: Great multiplay. The vehicles are a blast and the maps are too!
LOWS: You need a high-end system to make it work good. The grahpics arn't the best in the world. Singleplayer is useless.
BOTTOM LINE: This game is the funnest online game iv'e ever played. It is worth every penny of your gaming dollar.

REMEMBER!! IMPORTANT!! this is just MY opinion. Before you go out and buy the game I review. Read other opinions/reviews AND make sure your system meets the requirments of the game.
Half-Life.
It all stared a few years back. My friend $ebDogg invited me to his fourth of july party. As I was setting my fireworks down I noticed he was playing a game of some sort. I ask him what he was playing and he said it was a game called Half-Life and he said it was a blast. So I thought i'd give it a try. And boy what a n00b I was. I get on a map called 2fort and shotgun shells were flying from a medic shooting at me. As the sound of the shells hitting the ground and the bullets whizzed by my face the words out of my mouth were I think "Wow! I like this game!" Then I got killed :) Half-Life is a game like no other in the world. Most defantley the best. The singleplayer is the best ever, the AI is acually smart and the tarrain is simply stunning. Not only that the multiplayer just keeps getting better and better. You've got your classics like Team Fortress and Counter-Strike but then there are tons of more greats mods that are coming out like Natural Selection and Day Of Defeat. I can hardly think of anything wrong with this game, it's almost perfect. This is the only thing I can think of that's wrong with this game. The scientists arn't the smartest AI in the world. They get stuck easily and sometimes it's hard to get them to follow you. That's it! That's all I can think of. The rest of this game is pure geinuss! I would love to meet the person who came up with such a game. Not convinced yet? Get this. Half-life has been awarded Game Of The Year by over 50 publications! And has been awarded Best Game Ever by the best selling PC game magazine PC Gamer. Twice! But no matter who says it this is truly a gaming first and a gaming classic.
FINAL VERDICT:
99% HIGHS: Everything.
LOWS: sci AI is not smart and it will come to an end some year.
BOTTOM LINE: Just buy the game. BUY THE GAME!!!

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon.
Almost every gamer knows what i'm talking about when I say the Tom Clancy series because it is one of the best known Squad-based combat shooter series ever and it just keeps getting better with the release of Ghost Recon. This game puts you in the boots of a squad of american spec.ops soldier in a group known as, "The Ghosts." The best of the best. Better than the Green Berets. Stealther than the Navy Seals and stronger than the Marines. You start out in a forest in search of a man (I can't remember his name) with some info that would be useful for the US army. But watch out, snipers litter the map so stealth is the key here. Enough of the mission; let's get to the goods. Ghost recon is like no other shooter. It's the most realistic army shooter iv'e ever played and yes I have played other fine games in the Tom clancy series (Rainbow six, Rainbow six: Rouge spear and so on) But this one blows them all away. If your a real Tom Clancy junky this will be your heaven. The sound is so realistic it's like your really there. When the rain pounds on a metal roof or when a bullet whizzes by your face it is simply stunning. And multiplayer is great and getting better. With lots of mods to download and plenty of maps to play this game almost never gets boring! But here come the downsides. If you haven't played any of the Tom Clancy series it might take awhile for you to get a hang of it. And you can't play this game on a low computer either. Sience this game is all about stealth you can't play when your fps is like 6 and you can't see a thing you are just a sitting duck so I reccomend a fast PC to get shooting. And some of the graphics arn't too eye popping. Like the piles of rubble just look like gray clumps of.. gray ... and the hills are kinda squary. Other than these problems I feel this game has great potential and 2 add-ons are available. So if you get bored of this game just go out and buy one of the 2 great add-ons (Desert siege & Island thunder) and gear up! Your country needs you!
FINAL VERDICT: 90%
HIGHS: Very realistic, Outstanding sound, Fun multiplayer and it's fun being all stealthy and such.
LOWS: Still some AI issues, Tarrain graphics arn't all that great, steep system requirements and singleplayer gets boring after awhile.
BOTTOM LINE: Get up and on your feet soldier and double time it over to the computer store and get this game. That's an order!

Max Payne.
It's not talked about much on the site but this is a truley great game. it revolutionized the way we looked at action games as we know it. Max Payne dilivers a blow to the compition with the introduce of Bullet Time a new Never-been-used feature in any game. It allows you to slow down time as if you were in The Matrix. You can also dive while in bullet time wich is very cool! And the attention to detail is fantastic. Wood chunks fly from wood. Money floats through the air as you shoot a case full of money in a heated firefight. And water or steam flys out of pipes if you shoot them and Much, Much, Much more!! And there is a great line-up of mods to choose from. I found this mod for it called true matrix 1.5 and it just blew me away. The #1 action game just got a whole ton better. You can dodge bullets like Neo in the matrix! That's only 1 of the endless list of mods that you can find for this game. Just put on some cool music, Fire up Max Payne and have a great time. But there's always a few bringdowns. Max payne has no multiplay so then when you beat it it gets boring after a few weeks of playing it over and over again.
And Max Payne has some AI issues (once i dove into a room all guns blasing and 2 people were stuck behind a door!!) And last. the story and graphic novil can get pretty annoying in some parts (like when he's reading the Caption baseball bat boy comics) But these problems are just little issues in this great game and this game is a great roll-model for other companys to follow in the footsteps of Max Payne a true action gaming classic.

FINAL VERDICT: 89%
HIGHS: Outstanding graphics and detail, Great maps, Lots of mods to download and Bullet Time is simpley stunning.
LOWS: Some AI issues, Story & novil can get annoying at times and no multiplayer
BOTTOM LINE: Max Payne truley revolutionized action gaming and has a great future ahead of it. Otherwise, A great buy!

The Sims
A few years back EA games introduced gamers to a whole new style of playing. You weren't controlling a gun-wielding maniac. You wern't controlling a huge army ready to destroy a base. You were controlling real people. Doing normal things. That's why it was such a hit. Everyone was getting tired of non-stop high-paced action so they tried somthing different. And boy did it pay off. The Sims has sold millons of copies around the globe and sales are still pretty smooth. When you load the game it loads a little intro and gets to playing. You start out with a couple of pre-made houses with families already in them or you could start from scratch. Building is really simple. You might even say it's as simple as clicking the mouse! Finally! A game where you can say: "I built this house with just my finger!!" Housebuilding is a blast. So many things to choose from. There are Chairs, tables, counter tops, kitchen ware, beds, bookshelves, couches, recliners and much, much more. After you build your house you can choose from the many jobs that are available. (Medical specialist, Army soldier, Buisness man, Extreme stunts, Pro sports etc etc). Each job has its own level of pay and requirements. All pretty well balanced. For example; An army soldier requires lots of body strengh. And of course like anybody all of your Sims come home tired from a hard day's work. After a few paychecks you can hire a Maid or a Gardener to come water your flowers every 3 days. I like the sounds effects of the sims because it sounds like any other home. Dishes clanking when they are in the dishwasher or if someone is washing them in the sink. The humming of the fridge when someone opens it to fix a meal. And so on and so fourth. Above all this is a great idea who's time has come. I thought no one would think of this. But there are some bad probelms. If anyone that plays sims that is reading this you know what i'm talking about when I say the stuck bug. When 2 people collide into each other 1 of them can move fine but the other one, no matter how many times you tell him to move sits there like an idiot for about 15 seconds. Sometimes this could mean missing work. And it's really bad in doorframes. Sometimes they both would get stuck and sit there for 25 seconds. Also later on in the game the gardener only waters 1 plant and sometimes never comes at all, but still gets payed full pay! And later on in the game when you play your successful family for awhile the game gets boring. Sure you could start another family but after you've worked on your rich family for so long it makes you get tired of the game. But usally that doesn't happen for awhile and the road to your sims success is always a wacky, funny, winding one. So build your house, get a job and start living!
FINAL VERDICT: 85%
HIGHS: Fun sound, Fast and easy house building, Wacky job selection and getting rich for the first time!
LOWS: Lots of little bugs, graphics arn't cutting-edge and game gets boring after awhile.
BOTTOM LINE: Apart from some bugs, this is a really good game and one you should really look into!

Doom III (short)
Release: 8/3/04 Category: FPS Developer: ID Software Publisher: Activision Required P4 1.5ghz or equivilent (AMD) 384 MB RAM, Geforce 4. I reccomend: 2.5 GHZ CPU or higher,  AT LEAST 512 MB RAM, Radeon 9700 or higher (For best preformance) Sound Blaster Audigy 2 with 5.1 speakers.

Doom Fanatics have waited years for this, and now it's come, and it's better then ever. ID Software kind of reminds you of Valve because of identical statements made by the two companies: "When It's done" Was almost like a slogan for ID. Now It is done, and boy is it ever. The game opens up with a dropship carrying a couple of high-up marines. One of them being Seargent Kelly, who will come as important later in the game. You are also a new arrival. And are asked to proceed to a room where a guard preforms a Bio-Scan on you (A red beam that scans around your whole body, takes roughly around half a second) One thing i'm already noticing is the awesome attention to detail they put into the characters. When you are getting Bio-scanned. The gaurd behind the glass asks you to move onto a metal plate, and if you move just a little, he'll say "Try not to move, the scanning will take longer" I thought it just might be just an empty suggestion so I reloaded and Stepped on to the pad, still moving, It turns out it does take longer. That's just a small pinch of the amazing attention to detail the developers have put into this game. Soda cans will dent and move around incredibly realisticly around the floor. Bump into a chair and it will fall over, with light and shadow changing upon it's movement. Not to mention the walls, computer screens, and everything else. ID's graphical achievements are well beyond what I expected. I was completly blown away by everything in this game.

Lets move along to utter horror....yeah. This is by far one of the scariest games I've ever played. No, it's not that kind of scary where a monster jumps out at you all the time. It's growling, creeking, laughing, symbols on the wall. Completley terrifying! If you want the best experience with this game, you're gonna need 5.1 Surrond sound and a Sound blaster Audigy 2.

The Combat is also very fun. Firefights with marines and demons mixed can be quite entertaining. The zombies are dumb as stumps but hey, they're Zombies! What do you expect?

I found some loading issues though. If you start a new game and you die and click Restart level it will take you to some other game that is in your saved games. Huh?

Mind-blowing Graphics are one thing, Awesome gameplay is another. And ID manages to put it into one amazing little package. Staying true to the DOOM franchise, ID puts out another classic. This one will be around for awhile.
