Okay, let me get on the subject of cool. In particular the styles and attitudes etc. labeled cool.

Now there is nothing inherently wrong in describing something as "cool" in the sense that it is something you really like and think other people will like as well. What irritates me is the sheeple�s use of the term.

You see, people by and large are sheep. Do you doubt me? Take a look around you and see how many true individuals you see. People who are not afraid to dress in the way they like, to listen to the music they like, etc. You won�t see a whole lot. Because people, like sheep, are herd animals. The cliques one hears about are nothing more then herds of mindless bleating sheeple, marching in lock-step. Conformity is the hallmark of sheeple. The punishment for non-conformity is exile from the herd. Exile from the herd, outcast status, is the worst punishment imaginable to sheeple.

Which brings me back to cool. What is "cool"? An arbitrary standard, generally established by someone utterly lacking in socially redeeming values. "Cool" is the yardstick by which conformity is measured. One either likes what is deemed cool by the alpha of the herd,(or at least feigns it,) or one is exiled from the herd.

Mindless conformity or exile. The choice is yours.
