Part 3

All men are liable to error; and most men are, in many points, by passion or interest, under temptation to it.- John Locke

I am exhausted yet I sit in front of my computer once more in the middle of the night. It seems like I have a case on insomnia for I wake up early and go to bed late. It is the only way that I will fall asleep for the only way that I can find morpheus is if I am in a state of total exhaustion.

There is a very different yet very enlightning movie on television at the moment. I do not know the name of it but it is playing on CineCanal which on my TV is on channel 42. The plot of the story is about a group of Irish who are accused by an English court for being IRA terrorists and end up in jail even though they are innocent. The special terrorist squad that was in charge of interrogating them physically abused and threatened them with death and the killing of there family unless they signed the confession papers.

On top of that they arrested the main character's family and he ends up going to jail with his father. The main character is of course no angel himself and he has deep issues with his father. Oddly enough, this story to me is not about innocent people being thrown in jail after being the victims of a witch hunt by the government to find a guilty party for a horrible crime that was commited towards innocent people. It was not about the police torturing innocent people in order to make someone confess to a crime they did not commit. No, to me it is about a son coming to terms with his father.

Now why would I think such a thing? I must be tired for I am not making any sense. Let us go back to what it is like living in Costa Rica. In Costa Rica, people will do anything to make enough money to survive. Like in every society, some will resort to violent crime but those are rare and few when you compare them to all of the others trying to make an honest living. I have seen people sell single pencils and batteries on the streets. When you take a taxi and you are stopped at a light, people of all ages will come up to you and se if you want to buy something. From a small pack of mints to a bag of oranges to a stuffed animal. It is sad to see yet beautiful for these people have hope and do try to make an honest living. I love this country.

The bugs are beginning to really come out in Costa Rica. Just a couple of nights ago, I was up doing some work on the computer. The windows at my house are always open because I like to keep a fresh beeze inside of the house. Especially since it can get hot in the house and there is no A/C here. On that particular night, I was just minding my own business when all of a sudden, I heard a thud like sound next to the computer. I looked and found a big golden beetle. Cute but a bug nonetheless. So I picked it up and threw it outside(I only kill mosquitos) and went back to my work. Next thing you know, I hear a bunch of thud, thud thud all around the house and there is a swarm of bugs around every lights in the house.

Not golden beetles this time but very ugly flies with detachable wings. I say detachable because when I finally got rid of them, the only trace of them were wings everywhere in the house. How did I get rid of them, well, there were too many of them to use a fly swatter on them(I don't have a fly swatter anyway) so I had to use a mosquito coil. It's one of those things invented by the Raid company where you burn this coil and it keeps the mosquitos away. And it worked but I had to do a lot of cleaning afterwards.

I was reading the news today and I also found this really neat article about this guy who has been wearing a name tag with his name written on it for over 900 days and he talks about how positive the experience has been. He talks about how many people he has met and how people seem to be friendlier and seem to approach him more. I guess you can say that the name tag he wears is an ice breaker for many people. Check out the link and read the story:

I am working. I feel the need to work and keep myself busy to keep from thinking about other things. I am not sure if it will keep me from thinking about the wrong things or solve my problems but it will certainly make me productive.

I think I have found someone to make music for the project I am currently working on at a minimal cost or so I hope. We shall see. I am suppose to meet with him to see whether he he can provide me with music that will match the scenes and the mood of it all.

In all honesty, this journal is here so I can rant and rave in hope that it will make me feel better and figure things out in my head. Thus, I give ou a picture of what I am feeling right now.

Have you ever seen a stagnant pool of water in the middle of a forest? When you see it from far away, it seems beautiful and calm and if you are lucky, you may even see a deer timidly approach it to take a drink of fresh water. However, as you approach closer and closer to this small body of water you begin to hear the mosquitos flying through the air. As you get to the edge of the pond a stench seems to rise from the water. Where does this stench come from you ask yourself? Where did all of these mosquitos come from you wonder?

It all comes from the water because it is at a stand still. There is no current, no breeze of air to let the water breath. Nothing new comes in and nothing new comes out and it festers. Any questions?

I feel like the pond and I must open my horizons and get my new ideas out and get new ideas in. I feel as if I must broaden my horizon for ever since moving here, my brain has turned to mush. I am no longer using or expending my mind and it is driving me crazy. However, I don't like to see myself like this so that is why I am bringing changes to my life.
