The bride

It
is a formality that the bride
greets the parents-in-law. It

parents-in-law. According to

is called a Hyungoolyh or Hyungoogolyh.
The Pehbeck is that the bride
prepares some foods for the
parents-in-law when she salutes
them.
The
Pehbeck ceremony Lay

up Byunghoong which is a folding
screen . The bride's father-in-law
sits to the east and the bride's
mother-in-law sits to the west.

grandparents-in-law, the bride
first bows to her parents-in-law
and then bows the grandparents-in-law.

How
to wrap the Pehbeck

wrapper to wrap the Pehbeck
is a red fold cloth wrapper.
It's size is 100cm square. A
inner cloth wrapper to wrap
various foods is prepared two
if she has just the parents-in-law.
If she has the grandparents-in-law,
she prepare three. It's size
is 70cm square. The outer is
dark purple and the inner is
bright purple. The green Geumjunji
is hung out the four corners
of the outer and inner wrapper.
How to
wrap the Pehbeck
1. Get four corners
of the cloth wrapper together.
and hold those 2. Bind four
corners with a Geunbong belt.
3. Pull down the Geunbon belt
4. Fold each corner as a figure
of bottom of right
The Geunbong
It means that
the new daughter-in-law gives
the Pehbeck to the parents-in-law.
When they wrap the Pehbeck,
they don't tie it up and hold
it with a paper belt. It's width
is 5cm. They write the word,
Geunbong, on this paper belt.
In general they prepare three
Geunbongs. Two Geunbongs are
for the inner cloth wrapper
and the other one is for the
outer cloth wrapper. If they
have the grandparents-in-law,
they ought to make five Geunbongs. |
The

The
Woogyee and the Hyungoolyh
The Woogyee
or Woolyh is a formality that
the bride enters the house of
her husband. It is called SinHang
In these days. The Hyungoolyh
is a formality that the bride
salutes her parents-in-law and
the other family members. It
is performed in Woogyee day
or in the next morning.
The bride gives bows four times
to a lineal ascendant and
bows one time to the other
family members. The bride becomes
a family member of the Bridegroom's
house by performing the Hyungoolyh.
In the past wedding ceremony
the Hyungoolyh is included in
the Chinyounglyh.
The
Sangsoo and the Sadonji
After they finish
the wedding ceremony, the bride-side
sends some foods which is used
in the ceremony to the bridegroom-side.
These foods are called The Sangsoo.
When they send the Sangsoo,
they also send a letter, Sangsoosongseogjang,
and a list of foods. They write
the list in order of meat, fish,
wine, fruit and slices of dried
meat seasoned with spices. the
bride's mother sends a letter
with the Sangsoo to the bridegroom's
mother. This letter is called
the Sadonji. |
