In 200X.....
...the age of the network has arrived, thanks to the rapid advancement of the
Internet. No one goes anywhere without their portable information device called PET
(Personal Terminal)
What is a PET?
PET is an advanced cell phone. You can use it not only to make phone
calls and send e-mails, but also as a textbook, a newspaper, a TV and just about
anything else you can think of. Every PET has a personality simulation
program called NetNavi (gator), which performs all the network activities
for its unique owner.
PET Differences
There are three different types of PET's used in the MMBN RPG.
However, the first version (the ones that was used in MMBN 1 and 2) have been
discontinued.

Virus Busting!
Though extremely convenient, network society is plagued with a singular problem
- computer viruses. To eliminate the virusses, people equip their NetNavi's
with combat program data called Battle Chips This electronic protection
is called Virus Busting.
The Internet War
Neo Arcadia's story:
When the new year came everyone was thrilled. Although still in 200X, it was peaceful. In January,
Neo Arcadia saw some unusual disturbances far deep in the Undernet. They sent the
Outrunner-A to investigate. After two weeks and no response, Omega sent out Delta Squad, lead by a new recruit
Colonel.EXE, to investigate the disappearance of the Navi's. A few days later, Colonel's dogfighter was found drifting out in the net. Alpha Squad, lead by
Harpuia, towed the ship back to Neo Arcadia. There, Colonel was treated for his injuries. When he regained
consciousness, he informed Omega of the threat to come. Samuel J.
McGillicudy took this information and informed the Officials of the crisis. Neo Arcadia and the Officials teamed up and went to the source. There almost every Navi was deleted except for a select few. Blaming Neo Arcadia on this, the remaining Officials opened fire on the Neo Arcadian
Navi's. Jacking out quickly, they returned to Neo Arcadia after jacking in. They knew it was war.
Net Battlers story:
In January 200X, the Officials declared war on Neo Arcadia because of a trap due to a tremendous power
emanating deep in the Undernet. The Officials decided it was best to leave it alone, however Neo Arcadia declared forced them to take a look at it. There most Officials were deleted while the Neo Arcadians were unharmed. The Officials concluded it was a trap and then retaliated on the Neo Arcadians.
These are the two side's stories. It's up to you to decide
which side you support the most. It's up to you to decide who's side you
are on.
Getting On
You can get onto the RPG in many ways. You can use a program
called mIRC, you can use a Java Chat version
of mIRC, or you can use another program that can access the IRC Network. Once
you use that program, log onto the SorceryNet Server (irc.sorcery.net).
Once you have successfully logged onto the server, join the channel called #TheSquare.
Basic Controls
Every time another RPG starts, you are in the Real World or the Cyber World.
In the Real World you can move your character around or talk to your Net Navi.
If the GM wants your Navi to say something, he does. Otherwise, you can change
between Net Navi and your character.
In the Cyber World, you control your Net Navi. Usually when you jack in, you
have a mission to do, but on some occasions, you can shop, talk to friends, or
post on the Board.
Customize your Navi
The Navi Customizer is the best way to customize your Navi. It
involves certain programs to enhance your Navi's skill. However, another way to
power up your Navi is by using PUP's (Power Up Programs). You can get these from
defeating enemy Navi's, some high-level viruses, or in Mystery Data's.

A Net Navi can not exceed Version 10. Once you get to the next version, the
number of PUP's that you have will go back to 0. You can also use PUP's before
you reach the next level by boosting your HP, NP, Speed, Strength, AC, REF, or
your Weapon powers. Each time you boost the stats in those categories, 1 PUP is
used.
