Title: Ginka ni chikau Mission (A pledge of mission in the galaxy )

It is the examination period, everyone is busy preparing for their midterm examination. So is Karin. In addition, Ton-chan is also faced with his own mid-term examination, which requires that Buurin had scored 50 pearls and that Ton-chan complete a mission with Buurin. Ton-chan can continue his training on Earth only if he passes this midterm examination. So, Ton-chan and Karin set out to prepare for their examinations.

The St. Ringo School's examination period was only a week away.

In the classroom, Masami approached a sleepy Karin, asking if she had studied the materials. Karin replied "I don't even have time to look over them." Everyone was shocked. Kashiwagi: "Are you kidding?" Kaoru: "That chart is a popular hit on the exam!" Kouichi then added that Karin cannot be this lazy. Then the screen turned dark - show time for Keiko. "You are useless! I mind you, Kokubu-san, as the class prefect of this class, don't drag the class average down!" Karin complained that everyone was commenting that she would come last in the exam, but she admitted that frequent sorties left her with no time to study. (The enlarged faces of Kashiwagi, Masami, Kaoru and Keiko was revolving around Karin's desk.) Then Karin decided that she would go home early today.

That afternoon, after school, Karin and her gang walked past a playground, and a girl weeping because her balloon flied off and stuck between a tree's branches. They discussed getting the balloon down, but they doubted how. Karin knew that only Buurin can help (and she wanted to), but she also wanted to go home early. Just then, to everyone's surprise, Kuroha's Rolls-Royce arrived. Keiko spoke from inside the car: "Do you all know why all extracurricular activities are canceled before the exams?" Mizuno replied, "Of course we know. But the girl had her balloon stuck up there." "So what? Can you get it down just by standing here?" With a snap of fingers from Keiko, her car dashed into the park. Keiko got off it, turned into Medusa, and scolded the girl badly. Scared, she fled. Keiko then turned to the gang telling them to go home and study. They left before she finished talking.

Kouichi commented that it would be good if Buurin were around. Karin apologized in her heart, while the girl's crying sounded in her mind. She made up an excuse and left.

The girl was still in the park, crying on a bench. At this time Buurin descended from mid-air, returned her balloon, and took off again. She received an alert from the Tonpact when she was heading for home. She decided to answer this call as she had answered one already.

Ton-chan awoke Karin who had dozed off, then remarked that her reasons for being lazy were just plain excuses. Karin figured that she is no good at sports, but Buurin fared much better at this. She bet the same would apply to her study. So she transformed to Buurin while Ton-chan was asleep. With a Buurin-headed pen Buurin started studying after finishing her Run Run Step routine.

With great speed Buurin finished Karin's works. Ton-chan woke up, surprised that Buurin was here. He demanded, "What are you doing here?" Buurin replied, "I am here to help Kokubu Karin to study for her final exam. She had no time to study so Buurin must help. And you know, Buurin's comprehension and memory abilities is many times better than Karin." Ton-chan scolded her that it is against the rule to transform for her own sake. Buurin retorted that she spent all her time helping the others, sincerely.

She then noticed the battery-low signal. Buurin took off her nose, begged Ton-chan to recharge it, but he refused with "Bu Bu." Then the three little piglets skated in from the right saying "kotoba, bu bu bu!"

Karin claimed she won't transform anymore even if Ton-chan begged. Tonrariaano II spoke up, first complaining about the noise. He told Ton-chan that his mid-term examination was coming, reminded him that his training would terminate if he fails, and some other details of it, then bragged about his girl, Himiko, who took only one month to pass this exam. With great expectation, Ton-chan asked Karin to show her Buuretto. With only 21 pearls, he realized they still need a lot more, and fainted.

Ton-chan and Karin were discussing about his mid-term examination while he was re-energizing the nose. (Ton-chan's dialogues are in italic.)

"Midterm? What is that 3-month midterm? The heir to the Buuringo throne must come to earth for a hard practice session. Heir to the throne? That means the king of the future. Are you going to be the next king of Buuringo, Ton-chan? [The nose popped off.] I must complete this session first. You don't look like you are practising. Cut the crap. I really am practising, by monitoring your actions. That is, I must monitor the girl with the Dream Tonpact, [He handed the nose back to Karin] to check if she had fulfilled the great cause of Buurin. If I did well, I will then be the king. So I am that girl? Yes. And what about the 3-month mid-term? It is to check if Buurin had acted her role properly. Fifty pearls to pass? How can that be? But the real monster is a pop quest... [Ton-chan's nose turned blue. His fears are all written on his face.] Pop quest? Yes, my father won't tell about the quest until last minute, and I have no idea what it might be... We can't prepare for that then... Ahh... I will fail this exam for sure, with only 21 pearls... (screams) It's all your fault! You didn't take your task seriously, and you dragged me down... [Karin pushed her chair away] Don't put all the blames on me! It has nothing to do with Buurin if you can be the next Buuringo king or not. Buurin's power is for the mankind's good, and not for your own interests. I won't transform again to Buurin! How can you do this to me? If you don't help me I will not be the next Buuringo king! This is your own interest! Take it back! Don't do this please, would you? If someone call for help, who is to help them? They're on their own! Did you say you want to collect enough pearls to transform into your favorite heroine? If you give up now, all your efforts will be wasted! None of your business. Please, help me! You're on your own! All right then. I will be exiled by my father to a deserted planet faraway. If you have time, Karin, then think about me! Uh?! Huh! If there is no Buurin, Kouichi-kun will be very unhappy for sure... Okay okay, you win! I take all that back. But I want Buurin to help in my study in return. What? Hey, I am in a rush now, so how can I find time to study? I don't want to do this either. Okay, you can decline my offer... [Alert on Tonpact] Ah, the choice is now yours! ... Okay, have it your way then. Yeah! I did it! Buu buu!"

(Commercial Break)

With the issue settled, Buurin was moving in full speed. She did quite a lot, and the pearls count just go up and up. 30... 39... 40... At the same time Karin was in full throttle as well. When she sat down to see how well she was doing, she is glad that her study had progressed well, and she needed only 10 more pearls. However, Ton-chan still worried about the undisclosed mission.

The tonpact came alive. Tonrariaano II asked how it goes. Seeing less than optimal performance, he bragged about Himiko again. Then he went on, announcing the details of the pop quest. Ton-chan and Buurin was to locate Doguurin, the tool Ton II gave Himiko as a gift, to demonstrate how they work together. The doguurin is the one buried in the Himiko ruins, self-destructed in episode 6. This said, Karin transformed, and Buurin and Ton-chan went to the ruins right away.

At the ruin, they had no idea where the Doguurin might be. Ton-chan directed Buurin to dig all over the ruins, until she was exhausted, but they found nothing. Ton-chan remembered his magic power, and cast a spell: "Buuringo's magic power, please help me locate the Doguurin of the ancient [queen] Himiko, buried deep in here!" Buuringo rose up in the sky revving up, followed by a series of earthquakes, then a lightning bolt struck the ground, from where a green light shot up in the sky. The pigs went to investigate, and saw a doguu struggling up from the ground.

Buurin complained to Ton-chan about his estimates. They argued again, about who was to see the idol first. During the struggle Buurin dropped the idol and it broke to pieces. They both got very nervous. Buurin tried to put the pieces together when she noticed a cute little cyan idol inside.

Just when Buurin approached the tiny idol, it came alive with a strong light, stood up, and rose in the air. It projected an image of Himiko, then gave a lengthy speech that went like this:

"Excellent! You have finally found the Doguurin. You know the heir to Buuringo throne must come to earth, and find a girl on earth to be his partner. The job of the heir candidate is to guide the Buuringo power to the girl he chose, turning her into Buurin. If the two trusted each other, cooperate, and face all the difficulties with courage and a loving heart, Buurin will show supreme power of good, and all people around them will be helped. When you two share the same heart, and Buurin has done heroic deeds, the Buuringo power will increase. Eventually the endless universe in whole will benefit. Furthermore, when you two join to form one entity, the great ruler of Buuringo planet will grant peace to the Earth forever. Now, do it. Just like how you have found Doguurin, you two must join hearts, and face your difficulties with love and courage."

After the speech Buurin and Ton-chan decided that they would keep up their work for the Buuringo, the Earth, the universe, and for love and courage. Ton-chan said the first thing to do was to collect more pearls. Buurin was not too happy seeing Ton-chan being so realistic.

So Buurin and Karin are going full steam again. The pearl count went to 48 before the deadline. Then the tonpact came alive.

Ton-chan was going to fail the exam at first. His father didn't see breaking the idol an element of cooperation. But Karin and Ton-chan argued that they broke it together by arguing over it. Nonetheless Buurin's score was still two under par. They knew they would have to separate and went pouting like garden hose in a sad mood. Tonrariaano II was defeated by their tears, and allowed his son to pass the test, but he requested a report to be submitted later. Tonrariaano II also knew that they would argue all the time so he had Himiko prepared the speech in the Doguurin. Finally he said that there were many uses for the Doguurin before the tonpact dropped motionless.

Karin pressed a button on Doguurin, turning it on. It staged a revision quiz for her. She looked at Ton-chan, who looked quite relaxed because his exam was over.

Karin's examination was on next day. Among the questions she found one she had practiced through her Doguurin quiz. Karin answered it, said to herself: "I did it! It must be the reward of helping Ton-chan. How can the Ai to Yuuki no Pig Girl fail her exams? Anyways, I am really lucky!" then winks.
