| La Cumbia is the most popular and representative music of Colombia. It is a general term for the rhythm, beats and dances which many people consider cumbia. Porro, gaita and puya, all cumbia variations, have a distinct beat that originated with the indigenous gaita and African drums. Traditionally, cumbia music was entirely instrumental. |
