Who are we?

Out of the MUD is a Christian youth group based at St. Martin's Church, Cambridge. MUD was formed in 1998 and provides somewhere for 14-18 year olds to have a good time and learn more about God. We also have several past MUD members who are at university or on a gap year who come along when they're around and add to the merriment.

Our feet...

Why MUD and why Bosnia?

Our name stems from the single mindedness of a certain member who suggested the name 'MUD' (Multi user dungeon for all you retro gamers). We also have a more meaningful reason which comes from Psalm 40 vs 2 :

'He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the MUD and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.'

We believe that through knowing Jesus we have been lifted out of the mud and mire of life and that he has given us hope in life, a hope of a better time to come, of a new heaven and earth where anyone who believes and trusts in Jesus will live forever. Before that glorious day we must work on the foundation that God has given us and model our lives on the life of Jesus. It is through this desire to serve God that we want to go to Bosnia and, albeit for a short time, help the ongoing revival of a community still recovering from the Serbo-Croat war of the mid nineties.
