Gadgets and Gizmos, Part One
Device #000: Ether Goggles
Ether goggles are the first device any Etherite builds or obtains. They analyse various phenomena by differentiating etheric emissions and patterns through various Sphere (of technomagick) filters. The readout is semicomputerized, but interpretation is largely a matter of education and insight. No two sets of goggles are alike, as standard models are usually modified immediately after entering the hands of their new owner.

The pair to the left uses a front door witness lens for its "magnifier scope". A fisherman's worm-light serves well for an "active illuminator".
Device #001:Scanner Box
This was really the first device I kludged together, using stock hardware parts. At first, I didn't know what to make out of it, but I gained inspiration from the famous "Ghostbusters PKE Meter" (please don't make me say Copyright), I decided to make it a multi-Sphere scanner to detect various types of weirdness.
The display is a DC Voltmeter, retouched to measure particle flow in "Billion Electron Volts". A potentiometer (control knob) varies resistance to voltage from the batteries and makes the needle swing. Dummy control dials determine which Sphere is scanned or how many Spheres to scan at once. The second scanner barrel is for emitting a "countereffect field" for defense. (Both barrels have tire flashers inside them, but unfortunately they don't show up on film very well.)
Device #002: Kittner 2000 Computation Device
This concept originally came from a friend of mine, who plays an Etherite character named Dr. Archimedes Kittner. In addition to being a data plot-prediction and computation tool, it can also measure phenomena such as quantum singularities. The beads on the abacus are adjustable resistors along metal posts. They give a specifically set resistance to the first vacuum tube. The second vacuum tube, hooked up to the computer, emits a signal that is resonated within and reflected by the first tube. Any changes in the signal pattern can be analysed to detect changes in environmental phenomena.

I just thought it would be cool to make.
