LAST DAY

...the Usual...Kobei...

I wonder if tomorrow was the end of the world, how would everyone live their last day. The problem with people (well, I shouldn’t call it a problem), is that we have a concept of time and duration. We have history to tell us that people live to a certain age. We have medicine to cure disease. The technology is there to advance us as species. If all goes well, we know how long we live. Makes you wonder about people who know the effects of substance abuse… do they really want it to end a little earlier? People can figure that the road point A to point B is just filled with fluff. Some call it fluff, some call it life.

We have prolonged lives that don’t feel any better. We measure the quality on a number. We measure the quality on things we have. We measure quality and forget to live and love. Now, ask the one who has died climbing Everest at 30 if his life is the same an 80 year old that has never left the town they were born in.

With the knowledge of the wonders of the world, you would think that it would inspire people. You would think that there would be feats of ineradicable action on a daily basis… But people do seem to like to sit back and watch. People like to FEEL inspired but never want to inspire others. They know that tomorrow will be no different. They think that this life is all that they are dealt and nothing can be change. This is just a long hard boring road… and then one day you die…simple… and meaningless, because this is what being content means to some.

Well what if tomorrow was the last day. How would people feel? How would people do things differently? How would you express yourself to the ones you love? How would you express your dreams in the color of real life? Where would you travel to? What beach will you watch your final sunset at, and cry your final tear? Whose body would you wrap your arms around to feel the warmth of the human heart?

If every day was a last, tomorrow would definitely be a little different… a little bit brighter… and maybe we would never be in regret… and maybe we wouldn’t care about the end so much… and we just live day to day with the idea that although tomorrow is a last, it will also be a first…
