Atticus Finch is a deeply principled man. This story, told through the eyes of his daughter 'Scout' recalls the time when lawyer Finch defended a black man on charges of raping a white woman in Alabama of the 1930s. More than that, it is a glimpse into the mind of a man who rises to the level of his own convictions. I want this movie to be what western civilization is remembered for. I keep trying to say with words what makes it so extraordinary, and I can't. I have the comfort, though, of knowing that nobody else has been able to do it either. Nothing anybody says will do this film justice. Go see it.
