"Francisco, do you even know how to get in the basement?" Danny asked him as they rested.
"No. My aunt would never let me down there. Now I know why."
"You know where it is though?" Chrissy asked.
"Yeah, a little past the kitchen," Francisco explained.
"I'm hungry!" Greg said.
"What do you want to eat?" Allen asked him.
"I want a platter with some Buffalo Wings," Greg smiled with his eyes closed. There was a clatter from in front of him. He opened his eyes and there, on the table, was a platter of Buffalo Wins. A big enough platter for everyone.
"That...what?" Ashley asked.
"Yum!" Chris said, "Cheeseburger with bacon!" And so it appeared.
"Sweet!" Shaun smiled.
"How can you guys eat? We have like 2 bodies in this room," Melissa gagged, pointing over at Adam and Ashley Olsen.
"Cause we're hungry, duh?" Shaun said, whispering as a plate of nachos and cheese appeared. One by one they all began to say things they wanted. And the plates appeared.
"Dig in, guys," Francisco said.
"I want a platter of stakes," Danny said. The plate appeared with steak on it.
"Works everytime," Danny smirked, as he began eating with the others.
~~~~~~~~
"Oh, I'm full..." Chrissy said, slamming her fork on her plate. She had gotten chili cheese fries.
"Yeah...maybe we shouldn't have eaten before we went downstairs to fight...we'll be collapsing all oveer..." Paulo said.
"We still have about 10 minutes. Let's just rest for the rest of the time," Francisco said. Everyone agreed with that.
~~~~~~~~
"Alright, guys, let's go," Danny said, looking out the window. He could see the darkness was still there, but he knew it wouldn't be there for long.
"One more minute, mommy..." Aaron said. Francisco shook him and he woke up.
"Oh..." Aaron laughed as he got out of his chair. He picked up his double axe. Slowly, everybody got out of their seats and grabbed their weapons.
"Hey," Chrissy said, holding her frisbee blade, "I think these things work on mind power!" She threw it at the wall, but before it hit the wall, it came flying back.
"What makes you think that?" Rachel asked her.
"Because when I was about to get it off of the ground, it flew up into my hand!" she smiled. Danny picked his crossbow off the ground.
"I don't know, but if it does, that's cool," Allen said.
"We gotta go now," Greg said, "Francisco, lead the way." Francisco nodded, picked up his double axe and walked into the kitchen, past the room they had gotten all the new weapons from, and past a single white door. Everyone followed him. He pulled the door open, and looked at them.
"You guys ready?" Francisco asked. Slowly they nodded. Alright...here we go...
Francisco walked down the stairs, followed by Danny, then Chrissy, and lastly Allen. There was nothing but junk in the basement. No vampires.
"There has to be someway to get in there...move things around....take out your flashlights..." Francisco said. Everyone complied, and beams of light went around the basement. It took five minutes before they realized that they were standing right over the clue.
"Wait, what's that?" Amanda asked, aiming her flashlight at the ground. Shia and Lalaine walked over to her.
"Looks like little engravings," Shia said. Chrissy joined them and examined it with her flashlight as well.
"They look like...Allen's sword...and my thingy....they are our weapons! There's an arrow..." Chrissy said. The arrow pointed to a wall a few feet away. Chrissy aimed her flashlight at the wall. There was a filing cabinet where the arrow pointed.
"That filing cabinet...?" Lalaine asked.
"No...behind it..." Chrissy guessed. She went to the filing cabinet, grabbed each side of it with one hand and pulled it out of the way. Sure enough, there were holes in the wall, big enough to fit their new weapons in.
"Guys! I found the entrance!" Chrissy yelled to everyone. They all piled in near her. She put her frisbee weapon on the hole that had the shape of a circle.
"Danny, Francisco, Allen! Your weapons need to go on here..." Chrissy told them. Danny walked over to his slot, and examined it. There was no room for his crossbow, but there was a space for his stake. He pulled it out of the crossbow and put it in the slot. Francisco and Allen followed on their spaces. The ground shook violently. Everyone stumbled and backed away from the wall. The wall cracked and collapsed to the ground, revealing a different wall. A wall made of hardened dirt. Their weapons had been placed in there, not the wall. The dirt slit from the side to form a door, and slowly the door slid open.
"This is it, you guys..." Danny said, watching as the door opened completely. A stairway, that led straight downward. Francisco looked at them.
"No one go yet," Francisco said, "Until we get our weapons." Francisco walked behind the door, and pulled out his double axe. He then pulled out the jagged sword and handed it to Allen, the frisbee dagger was next, and lastly the stake. They all held their weapons tight, Danny sliding the stake into his crossbow, and Francisco gazed down the stair case.
"When we get down there..." Danny explained, "Don't try to fight too much. Fight a little bit and get OUTSIDE. If we don't fight too much we all have a chance to survive. Get upstairs and outside as fast as possible. Once you're outside, don't stop running. Stop running when the sun rises. We're going to try to get to the outskirts of the city. There's no shade there. Ok? If we get them out in the sun, rather or not they all die from sunlight, we win. We have them cornered when they can no longer move. Ok? Ready?"
"Question: What if we don't all survive?" Shia asked.
"A few of us probably won't. Get upstairs as fast as you can! If there is someone injured, keep moving. We can't take a chance. This is the moment right now that we are all for all. Worry about yourselves and getting out. We'll get the injured when we win," Allen said.
"You mean if," Shaun said.
"No, when," Aaron agreed with Allen.
"Get ready...we're going in..." Chrissy said quietly, "We go first. You guys follow. BE CAREFUL." she stressed. With a nod to Danny, Allen, and Francisco, the four of them went down the stairs. The stairs were made of hardened dirt. Finally, after 145 stairs, they came to the underworld. It was a cave, lit by torches that burned with flames inside. It was very well illuminated, but it wasn't very pretty.
Danny and the others came out of the staircase, looking around. The cave was huge. But as they came out of the staircase, no vampires were anywhere. They looked side the side, the other piling out behind them. Where were all the vampires that Francisco had been talking about. No vampires at all were in this basement.
"Something is not right!" Allen said. He held his sword tight.
"You're right..." Chrissy said.
"Everybody back upstairs!" Danny said as he turned. The last person, Rachel, had just gotten down the stairs. But Danny's eyes were wide with fear. On each side of Rachel, a vampire was coming around. They finally noticed the cave were circular, and right behind the stairs, the hundreds of vampires jumped out with a shriek. Rachel looked to her side and ran over to the rest of the group. They were trapped. They couldn't get back upstairs.
"Hold the line!" Danny said as he backed away from the approaching vampires. They looked way more powerful than the ones Danny had faced already. It was gonna take a lot. A lot to beat them. With one last shriek, the vampires charged all at once to the remaining 15. Hundreds upon hundreds against 14 kids and one adult.
