I told her to surprise me, and then said goodbye. I walked over to my closet and picked out a pair of jeans and a blue shirt that had white writing on it. I then chose out a shell necklace that Kelsey had bought me four birthdays before todays. I ran a comb through my hair, put on my watch and finally checked for any holes in my pants. I left the safety of my room and walked back downstairs. My parents were putting their jackets on and Lea was assisting Timmy in putting his on. I tilted my head to the side confused and asked, "Where are we going?" My father replied, "We are going to the store to get stuff for your party. That stuff is supposed to be a surprise, so you are staying here." I sighed, "At least you aren't singing the ritual birt-" I had spoken too soon. Timmy broke me off and said, "Birthday song!" My mother nodded and said, "Almost forgot." Lea started it off, "This is" The rest of my family joined in, "Your birthday song, it's not so very long. See ya!" They all waved goodbye and my mom said, "We'll be back later!" The door closed and the own silence of my house scared me. Kelsey was at the mall and probably wouldn't be back till later. "What was I supposed to do until then?" I asked myself aloud. I sighed and sat down at the kitchen table. Waffles were still steaming from being made and there was a note on the table. I looked at it and read aloud, "Hey birthday boy. Your mother, Lea, Timmy and I will see you later for dinner. See you soon! Dad."
