I woke up that morning, happy to be alive. I had the best friend any one could ever have, a loving family, and a beautiful day set ahead of me. I jumped out of bed, missing my cat's tail, and ran down the hall for the cordless phone. I dialed in my best friend, Jesse's, number and waited for some one to answer.
Minutes later, a young boy answered the phone, "Hello?"
"Hey! Is Jesse home?"
"Yeah hold on." I nodded, waiting for Jesse to pick up the phone. Suddenly, a groggy, sleepy voice came onto the phone, "Hello?"
I smiled and replied, "Hey Jess! Happy Birthday!" His voice became more awake as he said, "Thanks. Are you coming to my party? You and your family are invited." I thought for a second and said, "I'll ask my mom if we are. What time?" He gave me time and day and said, "It's tomorrow, of course. Don't be late!" I said goodbye to him and hung up the phone. I ran back to my room saying to myself, "Sweet sixteen, I have to buy him a perfect birthday gift."
I opened my closet door and chose out a pair of jeans and a red top that had half way sleeves. After choosing my outfit and getting dressed, I did my hair and walked down stairs.
