**SUMMER EVENTS, 2004** Posted July 20, 2004 Okay, folks, KI is meeting on Wednesday, July 21st at 6:00 pm at the Espresso Royale Cafe in Champaign (not the one under Ariel's apartment!) It's on the corner of 6th and Daniels and is on the same block as the Illini Union Bookstore. We'll be knitting as usual, discussing future events and planning a fun-filled KI grillfest on the Quad! Hope to see you there! Posted July 16, 2004: We had our first KI meeting of the summer last night at Ariel's apt. Ariel made chocolate chip cookies! Mmmmmm... We decided to meet regularly over the rest of the summer, however no dates, times or locations were set. When they are, they will be posted here as well as on the "main" page. We also decided to work on a charity project this year, and have tentatively come up with Warm Up America! which is an organization that donates afghans to homeless shelters, hospitals, etc. The KI would knit 7"x9" blocks, sew them together to make a blanket and send it off to their office. Sounds like fun! Posted July 7, 2004: Knitting Illini will be meeting Thursday, July 15th at 6pm at Ariel's apartment: 702 1/2 S. Goodwin in Urbana, right above Espresso Royale Cafe. The door to her apartment is a little ways down from the Espresso and is labeled 702 1/2 (ring A). You'll have to park at a meter on the north side of the cafe, but we won't be meeting for more than 2 hours. We will be discussing regular meeting times and, of course, knitting. And Ariel's making treats!! |
