SAMAIN : (October 31 - Nov 1 )The Pagan "New Year" . The last harvest . The Earth says farewell to the God , He dies but readies himself to be reborn of the Goddess at Yule and the cycle will continue .The veil between the world of the living and the dead is very thin on this night. This is the time to honor the ancients who have gone before us WINTER SOLSTICE/YULE: ( On or about December 22 ) Yule is the time of greatest darkness and the longest night of the year . The Winter Soltsace is celebrated as the "return of the sun God",where the God is reborn of the Goddess . IMBOLC: (February 2 ) The Goddess nurtures her young son . The time of the year associated with beginning growth . Imbolc is an innitiatary period for many . SPRING EQUINOX/OSTARA: (On or about march 21 ) The Spring Equinox is celebrated as the first day of true spring , the days and nights are equal in length . The God continues to mature and grow . As he matures the days become warmer with promise . BELTAINE : ( April 30 - May 1 ) The land is now ripe and fertile , and the young God expresses his love for the Goddess . The Goddess becomes pregnant of the God , and the first flowers of summer gather in their honor . SUMMER SOLSTICE : (On or about june 21 ) This time of the longest days is celebrated as a fire festival . The season between the planting and harvest . June is the "Traditional" month for handfasting and weddings . LUGHNASADH : ( August 1 ) The time of first harvest . The Goddess sees the God loosing his streangth , as the sun rises farther in the south and the nights grow longer . The Goddess watches in sorrow and joy as she realizes that the God is dying , and yet lives on inside her as her child . AUTUMN EQUINOX : ( On or about September 21 ) The second harvest . The days and nights are equal once again . The god is weak and prepares to leave his physical body and begin his journey torward renewal and rebirth of the Goddess .
