Font Poem

What's up wit dat?

This font poem signifies the darkness that lies in all of us, whether we admit it or not. This is a surprising quote to come from the brain of Mark Twain, who is best known for his comical writings. But Twain, of all people, knew the darkness that lies in the hearts of men. His sharply-barbed wit was his weapon, though he carried no big stick.

The Making of this Font Poem

Creating this was relatively simple. I just created a simple black backround and used a sphere-shaped gray gradient on the background layer.

I played around with the center point and the radius of the gradient sphere until it looked just right, and then used several type layers on top of that with different font faces and sizes. I used the blur tool (after rasterizing) to make the dark layer fuzzy and mysterious.
