Welcome
to Hi-Lites, the
home page of Nicole Saidi
Glitter,
neon and a whole lot of secondhand smoke intermingled with old beer. That's
what the seedy streets of Las Vegas mean to me. The sprawling Western-style
growth of this unique desert city in Nevada is a lot like Phoenix, but
with a lot more ugly patterned carpet. I decided to make a Web site modeled
after it because it's oh-so-cool. I study journalism and geography, and
thus like to document what goes on in various places. You could say I
"get off" on things like that. After I visted Washington, D.C., I definitely got a different idea of life in the West's ubiquitous suburbs. I'm now devoting at least a portion of my studies to railway history, science and culture. So check out the information
and content and y'all come back now!
Happy Mew Year!
You may have noticed an abundance of cool cat pictures on this site all of a sudden. We, meaning my family and myself, have effectively forced Bob - the cat - to wear humiliating outfits for our amusement. But isn't he cute?

Essay: Travelling to the East Coast
I had a great time visiting Washington, Baltimore and New York City. Check out the photos. Also, please check out a separate photo page I have hurriedly set up to reminisce about all the things I saw when I was in all those big, culture-enriched cities.

Nicole loves her neon. This is a photo illustration of an ideal, er,
altered Golden Nugget sign from Laughlin.

Essay: Howard Dean's visit to ASU
One of the many 2004 Democratic presidential candidates
came to ASU. History in the making? We have apparently decided that John Kerry will be the Dem for us. But still... Dean still screams for some liberal attention.

You know you're a redneck when you... I dunno. But
I do thinking in HTML means you've been net-ified.
