music

opening:

as i continue my practices in music, i've come
to notice that i lack knowledge and practice in
the fundamentals of music i.e., musical theory
-the science of note relations- which is crucial in
appreciating and performing music at a deeper
level.

this was especially evident when i
attempt to improvise..
i did not have any idea of code
progressions, modes, or chords.

i was a musician who played solely off the
music scores. i have always wanted to enjoy
music more freely and deeply. this is not
limited to jazz music but relates to classical
music, which i have been studying, as well.

through the course of my practices i will now
try to discern the sciences of music. and in
these pages i will attempt to share with you
my "music notes".
