Twenty-four students, faculty, and friends from IUPUI and IUPUC traveled eight hours to Cleveland, Tennessee in hopes of viewing Appalachian Geology and to experience the thrill of whitewater rafting.  Led by Dr. Gary Rosenberg and Marta Corbin since 2001, this year's trip also included Gloria McGrew-Cooper. 

Following is the agenda of the trip:

Friday 8:30am Departure from IUPUI and IUPUC
Friday 10:30am Visit to an Outcrop located near St. Leon, Indiana on highway 1
Friday evening Arrival at Quest Expeditions campground near Cleveland, Tennessee
Saturday 6:30am Breakfast and travel to Ducktown, Tennessee
Saturday morning Visit to three outcrops on the way to Ducktown; Each outcrop grew more folded as we traveled East.
Saturday 10:30am Ducktown, Tennessee: Burra Burra Copper Mine
Saturday 2:00pm Whitewater Rafting on the middle Ocoee River with Quest Expeditions
Saturday 7:00pm Dinner at the campground, rest, and relaxation....and rain
Sunday 10:00am Pack tents in the rain and return to Indianapolis                                                                        
Sunday 7:00pm Arrival in Indianapolis after sitting in traffic on I-65 near Columbus, Indiana
