| Competency 012 The teacher enhances professional knowledge and skills by effectively interacting with other members of the educational community and practicing in various types of professional activities. Reflection: In order for teachers to stay abreast of current trends, strategies, and research we must continue our learning. We can do this by interacting with our members of the educational community through professional organizations, as well as by interacting with other professionals in our schools and school districts. This could also involve interacting with student peers in our graduate classes. We can learn effective strategies that will assist us in instruction and classroom management from our professional peers and colleagues. By participating in school activities and teacher workshops and seminars we can enhance our pedagogical skills and form alliances and support groups with others educators who are striving for the same goals as we are. Just because we have receive our licenses doesn�t mean that the learning stops. As professionals, we should continue the life-long learning that will improve our teaching performance.
