Welcome.  If the face that is smiling at you looks familiar, that's because it probably is.
J. Smith-Cameron has starred in numerous stage productions on and off-Broadway. She has appeared in a number of films, including the recent "You Can Count On Me" (written and directed by her Oscar-nominated husband, Kenneth Lonergan), and "The Rage: Carrie 2" where she was given a more prominent role -- Rachel Lang's mentally disturbed mother. Other than that her film appearances are brief, yet memorable.  If you've seen "Jeffrey", you probably laughed a little too loud at J.'s portrayal of Sharon, the sexual compulsive... Her precise depiction of the Texan buyer in "The Proprietor" might have left you wanting to see more of her... And then there are her "mother" roles that every "Harriet the Spy" and "That Night" fan must remember.  How does she play these completely diverse characters?  J. is also the one who captured the theater audiences' hearts (and souls) in an off-Broadway satire "As Bees In Honey Drown" in the year of 1997.  So recently she has had some long moments of well-deserved fame.  Since then she was seen on Broadway in "Night Must Fall", in Central Park's "Tartuffe", and a few Manhattan Theatre Club's productions.

Much credit should be given to "As Bees In Honey Drown" because it provided J. with a great opportunity to display her many talents as an actress and comedienne.  Alexa Vere de Vere can either make or break the show. So J. had a lot to do with it being a hit.
