True, a pausible characterisation, good grammar and ortography as well as a coherent plot are (or should be) the basis for every story, but beyond that there's no firm ground.

My conclusion is that every reader has a particular taste, and this site will cater to mine. I can only hope that you will like the stories I recommend as well as the fic-quotes I will present to you.
