Date Change: now the 8th (Friday)
With only a few days to go to the marathon 20km swim in the National Aquatic Centre on Friday 8th of October, both swimmers (Keith O'Connor and Stephen Martin) rate their chances of completing the full distance as extremely high, although it may take a little longer than their initial 5 hour target.
The challenge will start at 6am in the 50m competition pool in the centre where the two lads will swim in 20 minute stages with 10 mins rest in between. They will follow this pattern for up to 6 hours to complete the 20km. After 3 hours the centre changes the structure of the pool, when it will turn into a 25m pool. At this stage they hope to have completed 12 km, leaving 8km to be completed in the smaller section.
