Chasing the Shadows of My Eyes Spring 1999 Poems relay feeling As is the purpose of a poem? But they can conceal Disguise as well as reveal Understanding is comfort But it turns that much more real My eyes dance in illusion Hiding not how I feel They never like to lie Obviously detesting the veil Words are then the eyes of a poem They give birth To the meaning you take Chasing what is cast And the reflection of thought The intriguing inspire curiosity But broadcast their pain Though understanding is comfort It becomes that much more real |
