Kinney 4-H Shooting Sports
The goal of 4-H Shooting Sports is to help youth develop character, personal growth, sportsmanship and ethical behavior through the safe and responsible use of firearms.

The Kinney 4-H Club has approximately fourty youth signed up for the 4-H Shooting Sports project so far this year.  Experience ranges from first time shooters to those who have shot competitively for several years.

The last few years saw competitive shooters attend several matches, from nearby invitationals to national level matches.  Shooters from all levels brought home lots of medals, plaques and ribbons.  Other shooters learned safety and improved their marksmanship.  However, the smiles on the faces and the growing friendships were the real achievement.

Our facility continues to grow and The Friends of NRA have assisted in the purchase of much needed equipment.  Our certified coach/leader staff has been expanded and our committee is constantly working to improve our program.  Whether you are an adult or a youth looking for a challenge, I encourage you to take an active part in this exciting and rewarding program.  You are what keeps this program alive.  Contact the Kinney County Extension Office for more information.
