Why are they called Swifts?
When British fanciers first saw these slender black birds stuck on their perches, they could not help connecting them to their native European bird "the Chimney swift". The major 10 different Egyptian groups were dubbed Swifts as a result. European standards, have wrongly, fitted the entire Swifts on behalf of the Black Rehani. This notion is fading away in the USA, for many ES fanciers are increasingly aware of vast difference among the Swifts groups.
European are lagging behind and under the impression that short and mixed birds are truly a Syrian breed.
