HMS Alacrity F174 Type 21 Frigate.
1983 - 1985.
This picture was taken during the Falklands Deployment 1984 in Stromness Bay. South Georgia. A really beautiful part of the World. Other Visits included Europe, St Thomas and many others. Ship sold to Pakistan in 1994 and renamed F186 Tippu Sultan.
HMS Battleaxe F89 Type 22 Frigate
1986 - 1988.
Gulf Deployment 1987-1988. Christmas and New Year were spent in Mauritius, strange to Sun Bathe Christmas Day. Many other visits included Dubai, Egypt, Germany and Gibraltar. Sold to Brazil in 1997 and renamed F49 Rademaker.
HMS Danae F47 Leander Class Frigate Batch 2.
1989 - 1991
Falkland Island Guard Ship 1990, Visits included South Georgia, Brazil and Antigua. Final trip to the Mediterranean and around the U.K 1991. Sold to Ecuador Navy 1991 and renamed Moran Verde.
HMS Sirius F40 Leander Class Frigate Batch 2.
1992 - 1993.
Visits around the U.K, Channel Islands and Europe, Decommissioned 1993. Finally Sunk as a Target by a Torpedo in the Atlantic September 1998.
HMS Sheffield F96 Type 22 Frigate
1997 - 2001
My Final Sea Draft in the Navy, West Indies Guard Ship 1998 , visits around the U.K including Hull, Liverpool and Sunderland. Baltic Deployment 2000, & West Indies Guard Ship again 2001.
Although I have served on some other ships for short periods at a time, the ones shown above have been for long periods. I have enjoyed my years in the Royal Navy and the many places I have been fortunate to visit.
