My Self

Sailing off the Coast of Antigua 1998.

Well now a little about myself. My name is Kingsley and I have Three Children, Two Girls and a Boy. I am Thirty Six Years of age and divorced. My hobbies are Computing, Fishing, Listening to Music, Nights Out and Travel. The last one being well accomplished during my career in the Navy. There are not too many areas of the World that I have not visited apart from Asia & the Australia's.

I work as a Petty Officer Caterer in Her Majesty's Royal Navy. I joined the Navy October 1980 and have served on Several Ships. I am presently serving on HMS Sheffield, a Type 22 Frigate. This will be my last Sea Draft whilst in the Navy. I have visited many countries throughout my time in the Navy and if I had to pick my most enjoyable moments I would say it was the West Indies Guard Ship Duties conducted by HMS Sheffield during 1998. The Ship visited many places including Florida, Antigua, St Lucia, Curacao, Trinidad, Barbados, St Kitts, Nevis, Grand Cayman, Tortola and many other Islands. I was also fortunate to sail on a yacht for several days, leaving English Harbor in Antigua and visiting Dominica with its wonderful scenery and waterfalls. A wonderful experience which unfortunately I will never have the opportunity of repeating. Although this deployment saw two hurricanes which tested the Ships Company with Disaster relief, it also went to prove the efficiency with which the Royal Navy adapts to any situation. Hurricane "Mitch" proved to be the worst of the two with vast parts of Honduras being affected with building destruction and flooding. It goes to show the enormous strength of the weather systems which affect peoples lives. The Navy is not all about hard work as the next photos show, we do tend to enjoy ourselves at every opportunity.

Curacao 1998, another Bar with Steve and Don.

Boatyard, Barbados 1998.

A wonderful place is Barbados, we were fortunate to visit the Island twice during our West Indies Deployment, wonderful Days out and many good Evenings as well. It is also where I managed to spend an afternoon with some friends fishing as the following two photographs show.

In the Chair.

One that didn't get away.

All in all a very pleasant and interesting six months away. I have far to many great photographs of the trip to show and also many very good memories.
