Dominica
The Island of Dominica Situated between the French Islands of Martinique & Guadeloupe in the Northern Caribbean. A lustful island with 60% of the Island is covered by forest, it has some 365 rivers and a few Hot Springs. Several Waterfalls can be found and some are pictured below. Dominica gained its Independence from Britain in 1978. A good view of one of Dominica's beaches. Although not so renowned for its beaches, these are still very pleasant as can been seen in this picture above. The water like most around these Caribbean Islands is very clear with an abundance of colorful fish, which makes it ideal for snorkel swimming and divers.
Waterfall and Pool. Those of us on the yacht spent quite sometime swimming in this pool, a really refreshing experience.
Larger Waterfall Named Big Papa.
Very close to the Waterfall above this one is called Big Mama. All these Waterfalls are extremely beautiful and are quite a hard climb over boulders and rocky terrain to get to. Most have large pools beneath and although extremely cold make ideal places to bathe. Most of the surrounding Rain Forest house a number of Exotic Birds. There are small feeding platforms situated on pathways which enable you to get a very good view of them. |
