This Web page is
dedicated to the theater piece Victories of
the Ticci Capac Atahualpa that dramatizes
the last battle that generals Calicuchima y Quisquis fought against the
Incas and in wich was captured Huáscar in 1532. |
This theater piece
was written and directed by Carlos Levoyer and the staging has had the
participation of the rural Parishes of Quito: about 1500
ancestral dancers. |
The piece has
appeared during two occasions: first during the Interparishal
Encounter of Culture Amaguana 2000 (the 17 of June 2000)
and later in the San Francisco Plaza (02 of September
2000) when Tránsito Amaguana
gave the Popular Command Baton to General Paco Moncayo after he won the
elections for the Mayorship of Quito. |
The fifty principal
actors belong to the popular sectors of the present
Ecuadorian society. Basically they are masons, tailors,
workers, craftsmans, professors of Schools and students. |
More presentations
are being prepared in diverse cities of Ecuador and other
countries. The movie is the following step
in a project that is been done under the guide of the
community. |
The text is inspired
in the vast bibliographical contribution of the greatest
studious of the life of Atahualpa, the Ecuadorian
historian Dr. Don Luis Andrade Reimers.
This web page is too a homage to this studious man. Also
our homage to all the participant
artists. |
