Deanna Michelle Smith has always yearned to shine and on New Year's of 2003 decided that it was now or never. She was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and moved to Detroit in 1994.
Initially she planned to stay for a year and move back to her hometown but fell in love, got married and had two beautiful children.
Writing is her comfort zone. It enables her to wander into a fairy tale land and lose touch with reality but just for a little while. She feels everyone should experience some out of touch fantasy world in order to maintain stability with real life drama.
Deanna has contributed to Crimes of Passion: The Anthology. Her story is entitled, "The Plateau of Pleasure." She is also working on her second novel entitled, "Outlaw City."
