For a while now, I have been trying to decide the direction that I want to take this page in. Basically, I have been trying to come up with a theme for this page.
Over the last few years, I have been watching the news and becoming more and more disturbed by it. |
And this is what has been disturbing me: All over the world people are killing each other. Why? They are killing each other because they are of different races, or nationalities, or religions. They are killing each other because they have different sexual perferences or are of a different sex, or different ideas.
I have come to the conclusion that those are never the real reasons that they are killing each other. No, they are really killing each other because of ignorance, fear, hate, anger, revenge, envy, greed, pride, power.
Everyday I watch the news and I am left with a great sadness for humanity. I am also left feeling frustrated, by the fact that there is very little I can do about it.
But then I stopped and thought about it. All right, maybe there is nothing I can do at this particully moment above the violence going on all over the world. But I can still do something. I can write letters. I can donate either time or money to Amnesty International.
It may not change a thing, but at least I've tried.
There is even things I can do over the net. Actually signing and forwarding petitions, instead of deleting them. Send e-mails to politicans regarding policies or proposed laws. |

One thing that I have been doing everyday is go to the Hunger Site to donate food everyday, just by clicking on an icon. It such a simple thing to do everyday.
The Hunger Site is also linked to the Rainforest Site to donate land, the Kids AIDS Site to donate free care to kids with AIDS, the Child Survival Site to donate vitamin A to children in developing countries, The Breast Cancer Site to donate free mammograms, and The Landmine Site to donate care to landmine victims.
 |
There are hundreds of other sites on the internet, where you can click a button and donate something for free.
Here are some other sites that have more then one charty link to them: Wedid (Cancer, Diabetes, AIDS/HIV, Mental Illness, Parkinson's Disease, and Spinal Conditions), 4 Goodness Sake (Just about every cause you can image), Ecology Fund (saving wildlife and land in Patagonian, United States, Brazil, Mexico, East Africa, and Canada), and My Small Part (Cancer, Hunger, Disaster Victims, Homelessness, Breast Cancer, Leukemia, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, Saving babies lives, Parkinson's Disease, Heart Disease, Kidney Disease, Children in need, Wildlife, Alzheimer's Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Environment, and Lung Disease). |
Or if you go to The Environment News Network's free donation page, it lists dozens upon dozens of these types of sites.
I have also compiled a list of links to charity web sites that I visit on a daily basis. Just go to my charity links page to access those links.
