kimmy-bear's room would be great, if it wasn't for that cat.

"first floor, out of the Silkwater Kitchen (any exit) make the first left, second right, through the red door. Viola! Play room...and maze changes every time you go there." Heather of TH

Welcome to the virtual play room of Tamson House. Believe it or not, I actually have spent some time and effort in creating this room. Someday I hope to have the technological know how to make this a really neat room, but for now this is all I can come up with.

To the source of this graphic

You don't know what Tamson House is? You poor, deprived individual.

Tamson House is the most wonderful place in the world. Created in Charles DeLint's novel Moonheart, is an enchanted house, that stand on a place of power. But beware, place of power tend to attract beings with unhealthy interests. The house has it's own brand of magical protection. Whenever something threaten the house or its residents, the guests of the house are lead on adventures through the magical Otherworld.

In our mundane world, Tamson House is mailing list for the fans of the author, Charles DeLint, that is maintained by our beloved Rick Le Mon. However, with a little imagination one will see that Tamson House is more than just a mailing list, where almost anything and everything can and will happen.

Fae roam free in the garden with the manitou. Peguins war with Farren in the Silkwater Kitchen. Someone (who shall remain nameless) sneaks their flying elephant into the ball room. The Welcome Wagon, patiently waits to greet the next new resident.

The House is virtual community of interesting and intelligent people from all over the world. Here we get together to share our truimpth, sorrows, and insights on the literature, philosophy, politics and life in general. But mostly we are there to have fun.

You never can tell what the topic of conversation for the day might be. It could be a series of differing opinions on a book that many of us have read. Or a deep discussion about religious tenents. Or to decide which Tarot card that we want to be in our on made up deck. (Queen of Books was a highly sought after card. Go here for the final copy of the Tamson House Tarot Deck List)

We also like to share some of the sillier things that we have found on the web. Such as name generator, silly surveys, and bizarre quizes to take. (According to one survey, I am a mad genius.)

So, now that you know how much fun it is to be in Tamson House: Aren't you jealous? No, no, no, that's not what I meant to say at all. I have no idea where that came from. What I meant to say was: why don't you join us.

As long as you are an interesting and intelligent individual, who doesn't piss off Mal, you'll do fine in Tamson House. Just be prepared to recieve enough mail everyday to bury a small child in.

What would a play room be without toys!

My favorite about Tamson House, comes from Sara Kendall in the novel Moonheart:

"Tamson House, she'd decided, was like Fear and Laothing in Ottawa. Hunter S. Thompson would have been very much at home. In fact, if all they said about him was true, she was surprised that she hadn't already run into him in one room or another." (pg. 28 Moonheart, Charles DeLint)

For more information on the the virtual Tamson House, just follow the door mouse to One Tamson House, which is maintained by Galdrin, Revered Elder, Unofficial and Honorary Librarian, and All Around General Sweetie-Cat. For more information on the fictional Tamson House, read either (or both) Moonheart or Spiritwalk, by Charles DeLint. For more information on Tamson House's patron, Charles DeLint, click here to go to Charles' personal web site.

Just one more note to add, according to our wonderful Iron-fisted Dictator, Rick Le Mon, Tamson House (the virtual one) turned five on October 25, 2000. Happy Birthday, Tamson House!!!!
