Destiny's Child's Beyonce Found Writing

Arriving in stores Tuesday is 8 Days of Christmas, a new holiday album from the trio Destiny's Child. Besides a selection of holiday standards, the 12-track album also includes five originals--the title track; "Winter Paradise"; "Spread a Little Love on Christmas Day" and "Opera of the Bells" by the group's Beyonce Knowles; and "O Holy Night" co-written by Michelle Williams.
Knowles tells LAUNCH that she found writing the holiday songs easier than the other material she writes for Destiny's Child. "It's super easy, 'cause the hardest part... I write songs based on the concept. The first think of is, is like a title, like 'Bootylicious,' and then it's, it's real easy after that. But you have to find something to write about so people aren't bored. And when the concept is given to you, it's very easy to write a song. So you already know it's a Christmas song, so it's easy," she says.
In addition to the group-penned originals, 8 Days of Christmas also includes "A 'DC' Christmas Medley" as well as Destiny's Child arrangements of "Silent Night," "Little Drummer Boy" (featuring Knowles' younger sister Solange), "Do You Hear What I Hear," "White Christmas," "Platinum Bells" and "This Christmas."

Destiny's Child plan to go their separate ways

Destiny's Child are to split temporarily, according to reports.

Speaking on US television, singer Beyonce Knowles said: "Destiny's Child put out four albums in four years, which is unbelievable. That doesn't happen a lot."
She told E News Daily: "We've been working, Kelly and I, since we were nine, non-stop. So I think Destiny's Child is gonna take a little break."
Back in October, dotmusic reported that group members, Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams were planning to release solo albums in the future.
Michelle will be releasing a gospel album early in the New Year whilst Kelly plans to release her 'alternate R&B' album by early 2003.
Beyonce is rumoured to have accepted a starring role in the forthcoming Austin Powers movie, 'Goldmember' and is likely to complete filming before work begins on her solo album - due for release in Autumn 2002.
Manager Mathew Knowles said the trio would not compete with one another, claiming that the timing of various projects would be crucial: "I wouldn't want any of my artists to directly compete with each other. They're so multitalented that while one's working TV, the other can be working a record."
It's not yet known when the group will split, though they are still committed to their European tour in May.
