11.17.01 American Music Awards Destiny's Child have been nominated for 2 American Music Awards: Favorite Album: Pop or Rock & Roll Music-Survivor Favorite Band, Duo or Group: Soul / Rhythm & Blues Music The 2002 American Music Awards, hosted by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, will air live on ABC January 1st, at 8 P.M. ET. 11.17.01 A Home for the Holidays With Mariah Carey Mariah Carey will headline and host the December 21 "A Home for the Holidays With Mariah Carey" special on CBS. The telethonlike program, taped November 3 in Los Angeles, also features performances by Destiny�s Child, Enrique Iglesias, Mandy Moore, Charlotte Church and Josh Groban. 11.17.01 Noble Peace Prize Ceremony DESTINY'S CHILD , WYCLEF JEAN, AND PAUL MC CARTNEY WILL PERFORM AT THIS YEARS NOBEL PEACE PRIZE CEREMONY ON DECEMBER 11.McCartney, Wyclef, Natalie Imbruglia, '80s favorites A-Ha, worldbeat leader Youssou N'Dour and opera star Russell Watson will perform at the event, while Destiny's Child will pre-record a performance for the concert, according to organizers. 11.17.01 So, What's Up With Farrah? Ex-Destiny's Child member Farrah Franklin says she is going ahead with a planned autobiography exposing all the details on life with the world's hottest R&B group. Franklin says she hasn't spoken to the group since the split 15 months ago. The singer hopes to publish the autobiography next year soon after her debut solo album. Franklin says: 'This past year I learned not to do things for money and glitter. I'm happier discovering this. I know what's really true to me. The singer, whose middle name is actually Destiny but was told to drop it by the other members of the group, continues: 'All my life I went by Destiny Franklin until I joined Destiny's Child. They asked me to use Farrah,' says Farrah who split with the group in August 2000 on the eve of an Australian tour. Asked if she's spoken with Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle since the split she replies, 'No.'. Earlier this year Farrah told MTV, 'There was a lot of negativity in the group, and I was unhappy. I felt like I had no say in which way my career was going and I lost my identity. I know I made the right decision to leave.' She's also planning a 2002 calendar and a new album due soon which features a duet, Get At Me, with rapper Method Man. Duets with Nelly and Trina, other acts on the FoReel Entertainment label to which she signed after Destiny's Child, are being lined up. Farrah says, 'It's a new R&B sound. I don't think I sound like anybody. I have party songs and love songs, but definitely no male bashing.' Farrah, who also stars as rapper DMX's wife in the third installment of The Crow horror movie series and can be seen in Nelly's new video #1, says, I'm working on an autobiography and a calendar as well. I will also have a web site launched shortly to promote my music. I feel very blessed.' 11.17.01 Guinness World Records 2002 Destiny's Child, Michael Jackson, Lil' Bow Wow, Master P, Eminem, Michael Jordan, and Tiger Woods are among the record holders listed in Guinness World Records 2002, out now. Jackson is recognized for winning a record-breaking eight Grammys in one year, the most an individual has ever won. Lil' Bow Wow is listed for being the youngest Number One solo rapper on the U.S. music charts. Master P is recognized as the richest music producer, while Destiny's Child is listed as being the girls band that has spent the most weeks at Number One on the U.S. singles chart. 11.17.01 What's Goin' On Video Captures The What's Goin' on Video premiered today on TRL.
