| NEWS 01.08.01 DESTINY'S GO GOSPEL Destiny's Child are confirmed to appear at the Gospel Music's Stellar Awards this week, reaffirming the roots of the band. Kelly, Michelle and Beyonce will perform at the 17th annual ceremony at the Atlanta Civic Center, amongst a host of other gospel names. They will perform 'Gospel Medley' from last year's 'Survivor' album, and also air the first fruits of the solo careers that all three are expected to embark on in time. Michelle Williams is to debut 'Steal Away', a duet with gospel legend CeCe Winans, which is expected to feature on her forthcoming solo record. 01.07.01 DESTINY'S SCHEDULE NEW ALBUM A Columbia Records spokesperson has confirmed that Destiny's Child have a start date for work on their fourth studio album. Work on the record will apparently commence when the trio complete a springtime world tour on which Beyonce's sister, singer Solange, will be the support. Following rumours that the girls would split up in late 2002, they seem keen to stress that nothing could be further from the truth despite currently being occupied by solo projects. As reported previously on dotmusic Michelle will be releasing a gospel album early in the New Year whilst Kelly plans to release her 'alternate R&B' album by early 2003. Beyonce has recorded a song for the new Austin Powers movie, 'Austin Powers in Goldmember'. Called 'Hey, Goldmember', the track samples K.C and the Sunshine Band's '(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty'. 12.14.01 DEPENDENT WOMEN?! Destiny's Child say they are still, "very much a group", despite rumours they are to spilt next year. Last week, the group announced plans for a temporary break at the end of 2002. Though the pursuit of solo projects was cited as the reason, many suspected the break could signal the end of the chart-topping trio. However, a statement issued by the band, claims that Destiny's Child remain, "very much together", and plan to remain that way for many years to come. "We just want to take a little time to work on some things that reflect our individual personalities and we're going to help and support each other with everything we do." It continued: "We've worked really hard to get to where we are and have been blessed with success and the incredible support of our fans." "We're like sisters, we really love and understand each other and have such a great time that we can't even think about breaking up Destiny's Child." As reported previously on dotmusic, group members, Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams are each planning to release solo albums in the future.Michelle will be releasing a gospel album early in the New Year whilst Kelly plans to release her 'alternate R&B' album by early 2003. Beyonce is to star as Foxy Cleopatra in the forthcoming Austin Powers movie, 'Goldmember' and is likely to complete filming before work begins on her solo album - due for release in Autumn 2002. 12.12.01 Destiny's Child Performs "Christmas Medley" Watch the CBS Early Show on December 24th for a performance of "Christmas Medley" by Destiny's Child.
