RULES
The idea behind the FSRD or Flight Simulator Records Department, (cool acronym eh?) is that you, avid flight simmer, have somewhere to go to see how you stack up against other FS pilots.  OK really I just wanted somewhere to go to see how I stack up against the other FS pilots.  The other thing that I hoped to accomlish was finding something new to do with the flight sim.  I know you're saying "what about all those high quality Virtual Airlines out there?"  What about them?  Let's say I buy a $60 Stock Car simulator, $100 wheel and pedals, a $300 3D graphics card, and $75 speakers, then design a Greyhound Bus and drive it from Wichita to Omaha over and over again and brag about how good I am at it.  Oh boy, hold me back!

Time keeping:  FSChrono is a great little program that can be found at flightsim.com and should be used whenever you are trying to set a designated course speed and time record.  No time rate adjustment is allowed, fly the plane in real time.

Fuel:  Fuel and repair stops must be made on the ground in the yellow designated fuel square.  Adjusting your fuel levels through the menus is not allowed.  There is no inflight refueling!  However you do not have to start with a full tank if you don't want to.

Weather: Simple, dont use any.  No wind, keep the pressure at the default and everyone will think you are a swell, courtious, and a fair pilot.

Designated course records:  This applies to Historical Races and Designated Course Speed records.  Try to use FSChrono if possible.  If the plane that you are flying needs to make a stop for fuel or repairs then you will have to use the plane's own clock, only the total time from start to finish is counted.

Distance records:  This category of records covers maximum distance traveled without refueling for your plane.  Stops at intermediate airports are allowed but no refueling can be done.  You must start at an airport within 500' of sea level, however you may land at any airport you wish.  Please include the starting and ending airport in your report.  The straight line distance between the two airports is what will be counted.  If you flew from LAX to JFK via London in your Cessna only the distance from LAX to JFK will be counted.

Altitude records:  This category of records covers the maximum altitude achieved without slewing in a single flight from an airport within 500' of sealevel.

Speed records:  This category covers maximum top speed achieved in level flight.  Stay level for at least one minute before recording your top speed.

I will post the records for each record category, any records that seem too outrageous will not be posted.  These rules can be changed whenever I feel like it and if you disagree with me you can send me an Email and I will carefully consider your complaint before deleting it.
