Kids for Kerry
Kenton Ngo, 12 (soon to be 13!)
Springfield, VA
My political activism began in third grade, the winter of 2000. I was living in Norwood, Massachusetts at the time, and I did a project on the upcoming election. I was hooked on politics ever since. I only began actively working with fervor after I moved down here to Northern Virginia. I was a Gore supporter in 2000, and I was eager to see Bush go.

I support John Kerry because he holds a vision for the future, not just for the present. He provides us kids, the future, with a world we can cherish. I want to grow up and breathe the air and drink the water and look at God's creation and know this will be here to enjoy for years to come. I want to grow up and know that my children and I will not have to shoulder the burden of previous fiscal recklessness. I want to grow up and know that my parents will have the health care they need, and that everyone who needs medical care gets it. This election is about who's vision for America we believe in the most. It's a momentous task. But with John Kerry we can make some progress.

I tend to think of myself as a moderate Republican, I supported Bush in 2000. Now I'm supporting Kerry in 2004. Why the change? Simple. Bush lied to us all. I ask you, since when is it a good idea for the world's last superpower to go to war based on intelligence we cannot confirm? It's just plain stupid. Also, it is EXTREMELY reckless to continue spending more and more money on various departments with no concern whatsoever for the rapidly expanding $500 billion budget deficit. Bush has also let the extreme right control the White House and Congress, so, is there no more room for moderates? I support John Kerry because he has a centrist message that appeals to not only Democrats, but Republicans and Independents as well. John Kerry can also look to the future, and realizes that America cannot depend on foreign energy, nor can we abandon our positions on human rights for the sake of appeasing these Arab fiefdoms that produce our oil. Senator Kerry also realizes that you cannot disenfranchise the middle class, as Bush has done via his tax cuts for the wealthy. Lastly, I support Kerry because he thinks that America should not be the most feared country in the world, but a nation that the world can depend on and trust to not invade nations on pure suspicion.

Let's send Bush back to Texas come November.

Hi, Eli Kennedy Rivas here. When my parents were kids a presidential candidate inspired them to get involved in helping to make the country safer and stronger and the world more peaceful. That was JFK and he meant so much to my Mom and Dad that they gave me his middle name. Now there is a new JFK, JOhn Kerry, who knows about the problems and has ideas to fix them. I am proud of his sacrifice as a soldier and how he saved the lives of his fellow soldiers. I am proud of his work to end the war. I am proud of the way he wants to bring back jobs, protect the environment, and come up with ways to SAVE OUR SCHOOLS. Most of all, I'm proud of the way he's bringing people together. Bush has broken all his promises, especially to our generation and to the future. JOHN KERRY gives me hope and makes me feel safe. I'm in Southern California.
