She was startled to find her still beside her in the morning. Warm, yielding as she never seemed to be awake, one arm over her head the other wrapped around her waist, holding her.

She had expected to wake alone and be forced to deal with the recriminations and regrets and the this never happened but she was still there, still sleeping, still warm, as warm as she had been last night.

She eased her head into the bend of her shoulder and was content with the moment itself. She willed herself quiet, felt the beating of her heart and her own and smiled.

"Next time I go dancing," she whispered, "you can come too."
