Byron Scott signed a two-year contract with Greek team Panathinaikos Ac of Athens which was worth $1.5 million. On September 30, 1996, Scott was signed by the Lakers as a free agent. He won three NBA titles with the Lakers in 1985, 1987, and 1988. He was selected to the 1984 All-Rookie First Team.
