About us The Keystone Heights Volunteer Fire Department
has been serving the Keystone Heights area of Clay County, FL since 1952.
Our department has over 30 members and 6 emergency vehicles that respond to
more than 500 emergency calls each year.
Those emergency calls include: home/business fires; brush fires; medical
calls; auto accidents; vehicle fires; and hazardous
material incidents.

December 1, 2007
KHVFD hosts Air Transport Training
KHVFD, along with CCFR units E10, R10, R23 and Battalion 1, attended Air Transport Landing Zone training. Life Flight 2, flew down from the Green Cove Springs area to instruct the class. Life Flight 2 has been in service in the Clay County area less than a year. The crew for the helicopter consisted of ( Pilot ) Mike Lapointe, ( Medics ) Tres Oliver and Jairo Herrera, ( Instructor ) Heath Schmidt with Heath being from the Keyston Heights area and currently residing here. The class taught landing zone safety (how to approach the air craft after it has landed).
Attendance for the class was good. KHVFD would like to extend a big thanks to all those who attended and to LF2 for teaching the class.

Recruiting
The new recruits and other probationary members finished session II of III. They performed engine company and hose evolutions and covered response policies, hand tools and radio operations. All participants gained hands on experience and got a little wet. Thanks to everyones good attitude towards training and thanks to the officers and members who asssisted in the training class and thanks to Mr. Miller for some more good food. One more session to go.
