Movie: An East European man by the name of Victor Navorski (Hanks) arrives at a New York City airport to find out that his country's government has been over taken by an army of rebels. As a result, his country does not have a functioning government meaning that his country no longer exists. After that news, Victor gets even a badder news. He is not allowed to leave the airport terminal because his passport is no longer valid making him "Unacceptable". As a man without a home, he lives inside the airport terminal and learns how to read and speak english. He then become friends with the staff of the airport and falls in love with Amelia Warren, a flight attendant (Zeta-Jones, MILF).

Inspired by the story of Merhan Nasseri, an Iranian refugee. In 1988, he landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport near Paris after being denied entry into England because his passport and United Nations refugee certificate had been stolen. French authorities would not let him leave the airport. He remained in Terminal One, a stateless person with nowhere else to go. He has since been granted permission to either enter France or return to his own country. He instead chooses to continue to live in the terminal and tell his story to those who will listen. As of the summer of 2004, he is still living in the airport.

Video: The movie was colourful and modern and very commercialized. I was over-whelmed by the extras in this film, they had tons of tourists and workers. The workers worked at actual stores and fast food chains like Burger King, Starbucks, Hugo Boss, Borders and many more.

Overall:
A film that has Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks working together is guaranteed to be great, right? Wrong. This movie could have been made by Disney becuase it was so childish. It was entertaining in the first hour becuase of the whole concept of being a foreigner living in an American airport terminal. But, then the story gets a little too "happy" and Navorski becomes a hero overnight and everything starts going his way. On the up-side, the storyline does show the American culture quite well. It shows us the life of a busy person in a busy country and tells us to be patient and things will go your way.

Overall, this movie is still worth watching. Many people and critics enjoyed this film becuase of it being a romantic comedy, I just thought it could have been better. Maybe, its because I expected it to be more of a political movie becuase of all
the terrorist junk that happened. The DVD that I watched did not have any Extras. So, if you're planning on checking this film out get the 3-Disc Limited Edition.
