The salt mines of Babkha. Deep, mysterious tunnels travelling through the white rock down into the unplumbed depths of eternal night. Rumoured to have been started by Babkha's founder himself, Shah Babak, the mines may be even older than that. Stretching for miles under the surface of Zsharra, the tunnels go even deeper than many realize. Many casualties were accounted for when during the feudal era the mine wardens attempted to dig deeper and further than any man had ever done before. But this proved too much, and wild tales of strange creatures from the black abysses forced them to halt construction and close these deep tunnels forever.

Today, salt mining continues at its greatest level of output yet. Supplying salt for both the Kingdom and export, prisoners toil endlessly in the honeycomb network of mines to produce to the wardens agenda. The many stories of labrious years in the salt mines has served to deter many a young Babkha from the follies of a life of crime.
