The Zsharran Emirates were one of the largest conquests of Eura, the Babkhan continent. For many years, only the outpost of Azarkhak and the nearby Salt Mine prison were held by the Kingdom. For centuries, Zsharra remained a forbidding place occupied by the native R'kaniyah and Nerth'jazi tribes, plus the ferocious sandworms. Both of these tribes were violent and opposed Babkhan occupation sternly until such time as a combined force from Babkha and and Báatharz conquered the area and brought an end to their raiding and pillaging ways. Today, the Emirates are united in a regional council which meets at Azarkhak quarterly. While still a rural area filled mostly with desert, Kamalshahr has been carrying out a strong policy of reform and modernisation.
