In response to your question how I knew that Maxwell and Hecubus were the same person, here's
how:

Maxwell and Hecubus shared the same exact IP address when I banned Maxwell. The attached
pictures were taking from our board using a piece of software called SnagIt. I just snagged the
portion of the screen that show the IP address as well as their entry to keep the size of the files
relatively small.

As you can see, both have IP 128.118.27.165. I checked several other posts, across several days
and that was the case in every instance. I also checked a feature of ezboard that lets Administrators
see what IPs have been use by users. Both Maxwell and Hecubus had only used that one IP and that
showed it was a static IP. 

Static IPs, unlike dynamic IPs, don't change. That made me 100% sure that they were both using the
same computer. That by itself doesn't mean it's the same person. For example, college roommates
sharing the same computer or two brothers at the same house would have appeared the same way. 

For that reason, I accused Maxwell of being Hecubus, not because I was sure they were, but to see
the reaction. If "they" had come back saying they were roommates or brothers or something along
those lines, I would have had no way of knowing for sure. But "they" never said that. "They" just
continued to insist they were not the same. In fact, their posts suggest that they don't know each
other, which wouldn't be the case since they were sharing the same computer.That response
convinced me that Maxwell and Hecubus are indeed the same person. Later, Maxwell admitted as
much, but he did it in private to another administrator and I don't have that log. 

Now, for the second part to your question, the reason that Hecubus could still post after Maxwell was
banned is because I banned Maxwell's user name, not his IP address. I knew that they were the same
person but I wanted to give Maxwell a second chance at being able to post in the CG Forum. I figure
that, if as Hecubus, he would behave I would have let him stay. But of course, being the same
person, proper behavior was not in the cards.

At the time I banned Hecubus I also banned the IP they were both using. Since then, both Hecubus
and Maxwell have changed ISPs because they are now using different numbers. They now have
dynamic IPs, but it's obvious they still share the same connection because the range of IPs used by
both is the same, and in some cases, the same exact number. I know this because Maxwell come
back as Maxwell2o2o (notice the letter "o" instead of the number zero) and that let me see that he
and Hecubus do indeed continue to share the same range of IP numbers. (The boy clearly isn't the
brightest crayon in the box

That's really wierd. Cochinillo was Maxwell2O2O. He admitted it. Maxwell never posted as Maxwell2O2O. He even got mad that someone tried to copy his name like that. Are you going to claim that Maxwell is also Cochinillo? Why would all three of them have same IP?

The fact that Coch's (Maxwell2O2O)'s IP is the same as Maxwell2020's doesn't support the case that Maxwell is Hecubus. In fact it pretty much refutes it and suggests that your little IP tracking system is seriously flawed.
