There's one foundational part of your argument which is questionable,

father, so I'd think it'd be pretty obvious to anyone with a shred of sensitivity
that it'd offend her.

Yep.
Just for the record, I apologized for pressing
the whole thing, not for starting it in the first place. I've made that
suicide joke many times before, to many people who make stupid threads.
I don't mean it personally, and I think it's funny. I would say the same
thing again, if I were put in the same situation.
However, as I've acknowledged before, I took it
too far, and for that I apologized.

My dad committed suicide, and I still found it funny. Wow, I guess this
