| The Nova class is a science vessel. Though it very closely resembles an Intrepid class it is nothing like it when it comes to weapons and speed. When it goes into mass production they will probably replace the aging Oberth class vessels. |
| History In the late 2360's the Nova class starship went into production to replace the aging Oberth class and help out the larger exploration vessels like the Intrepid and Galaxy. When the Dominion War began in late 2373 the Nova class production stopped and resources were used to construct tactical cruisers. Production should start up again now that the war has ended. |
