You're a wizard, Kevin May 7, 2004 So it's been a week of Pj's and Buffy and I'm slowly getting out of the funk. Had a great chat today online with a good friend and it really cheered me up. Birthday preperations are in full swing. Here's the dealio: Thursday night is my actual birthday so i'm having the traditional B-B-Q. Since everyone is off on Friday night we're doing the actual party thing then...ie: BOWLING! (i hope)...saturday night the maddness continues with the PARC show downtoon. And then back to work on Sunday night with a hangover. Should be fun....hey, it's not everyday a boy turns 27 now is it? hopefully some big dude will turn up at the BBQ and tell me I'm a wizard, that would be cool. man oh man the end of the second season of Buffy was a heart-wrencher. HAVE to get the third season soon...preferably today. Work news: ok it's offical. I'm putting in my notice even earlier. I'm giving my two weeks on my birthday. I just can't stand it any more. Last night was terrible. Drunk teenagers calling me names and giving me the finger. I'm a grown man, i didn't think i'd have to put up with bullies any more. The worst of it was that they were calling me names that bullies used to call me in Junior High. Those were dark days with a lot of bad memories. It really boils my blood. I take comfort in the fact that most of those kids last night are going to be losers for the rest of their lives. Whew... Game news: The final level of Two Towers is awesome. Holy cow. It's madness. I regret that I had to put it on easy to get through it. blarg it was hard. Movie News: WATCH "BIG FISH" ! especially if you are a father or a son. WATCH IT!
and then there was one.......May 24, 2004 well it's been a while since i last updated. i saw Steve finally updated his page, so I had to do it. Keep up with the Jones' and all that jazz. it's been a pretty interesting few weeks. I'm not quite over the break up yet, but i'm feeling much better now. My birthday was a lot of fun. The guys came over for a BBQ and me and my brother went downtown. (i ended up selling a few paintings as well!!). The next night was bowling night and that was a blast. I forgot how much fun it was. After bowling we all went downtown (again..) and danced the night away. Much fun. I can't remember the last time I actually had fun dancing. The next night I went to see a show Emma was stage-managing called September in the Rain. It was a very sweet play. Then it was back downtown to meet the guys and watch a band called PARC. Best band I've ever seen live. Bar none. They were amazing. It was a really good show. a few days later i had to go to Trinity for costume fittings and readings. boy was that crazy. i worked the night before (12-7am) left for Trinity at 8am, got back at 10pm and had to work 12-7am again. All in all i had been up for about 30 hours and only got about 1 1/2 hours sleep. it was pretty intense. I'm getting tired just thinking about it. work will be finished really soon. i have 1 shift left, count em, "ONE Shift left!" It's on Wednesday, so drop by work if you're around and you'll be served by the happiest clerk in St. John's. After that I've got until June 14 to enjoy a little vacation. Then i'm off to Trinity. The major goal for my break is to finish the second CD. I also want to dive into my new Flamenco guitar book and do some Tai Chi. Since the weather is warming up I'm gonna try to get my bike out a bit more as well. PLUS I have to finish a bunch of paintings for a few of my brother's friends who wanted to buy some. Whew...shouldn't take too long though... Last night we had a beach fire on Middle Cove Beach. It was awesome. It was a bit cold at first, and we thought it might rain. But once the fire got going it really warmed up and an old buddy of mine that i went to music school with was there and everything. it was a lot of fun. Then i came howm and watched two episodes of Buffy...yes...i'm addicted. Started reading Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time again. Still haven't decided if it's a rip off or an homage. Either way the first book is awesome and highly recommended to fantasy readers. well I'll wrap it up there for now. My computer has been freaking out lately and I'll be formatting tomorrow most likely. So as Popsicle Pete always says: "keep cool" and I'll be back soon. kevin
Finally Back...for now... June 7, 2004 Well, computer problems have finally been solved. Format complete. Java issues resolved and I can actually update this page again. It's been a bit of time since the last update, so I'll let you in on what's been happening in the land of kevin. Been going out a lot lately, mainly to see bands play. It's been a hoot. Last Wednesday I had my first offical gig...hosting open mic at the Spur downtown. I guess I did a good job, because they want me back this Friday night to do a solo gig. So if you happen to be around the downtown St. John's area on Friday night around 10:30 or 11:00, come on down to the Spur. I'd love to see you there. This gig comes at a perfect time as the money situation is pretty dire. All will be solved of course when i start work in Trinity on the 15th. i can't beleive I only have another 7 days left!!!! Insane. There's a big part of me that wants to stay in St. John's for the summer.....but I guess you have to go where the work is...It'll be worth it. Feveriously (sp?) painting the last couple of days. If I'm lucky my bro's friend's will still be interested in buying a couple. Every little bit helps. I've been having a great break since I finished work, but it will be nice to have a steady paycheck again. Once I make the move to Trinity, it might be a week or so before I'm online again. I haven't checked yet to see if the service is even available in Trinity..but I'm hoping. well....duty calls. Lots to do. It's just hitting me now how little time i have left before I go. man.... kevin
the world is not my home, i'm just a passin' through, come on up to the house October 20, 2004 wow. well, it's been almost four months since i last updated. Working in Trinity gave me no internet access, so obviously I didn't do anything here. And in fact I'm going to Corner Brook tomorrow to visit a very special someone for a week and a bit, so don't expect an update until I'm back. so...what's been happening? I'm not going to try to catch everyone up on four months of my life in this little update, that would be close to insane. Just the big news. I was accepted into the Education faculty and...turned it down. Just not ready for more school right now, too many things I want to do on my own. Also, I"VE MOVED OUT!! Finally. On my own and living with my brother in a kick ass apartment in the heart of downtown St. John's. It is awesome. and finally......there is a very special person in my life right now and I have never been happier. there, that should do it for now. It's great to be back online I must say. Anyway, I have a very early bus to catch, so take care and I'm off.... kevin
i'm gonna take it with me when i go Nov 2, 2004 let me start by saying my trip to Corner Brook was fantastic. i'm truely the luckiest guy in the world and i can't wait to get out there again (this coming Friday actually). i am so thankful that she is in my life... yes, changing the design of the page. gonna take a few days, so bear with me. i figured it was time for a change. i'd appreciate any comments on the new look in the guestbook (hint nudge wink!). i'm basically trying to streamline it a little. make it a little cleaner looking and easier to update. plus feature my drawings a little more. the new apartment is working out great. i love living downtown and my brother is a great roommate. i'm looking forward to getting a lot of work done over the winter. if i can keep myself motivated. there's a slew of poetry that needs editing and an unfinished play from the summer. PLUS i have the second album that needs to be done. Joe has a line on a bar that's interested in hosting a CD release, so i better get a move on! i finally discovered the 1988 movie The Wizard of Speed and Time. I had been searching for it for a while and found it online last night. it's a fun movie that i'd been looking for all year. last night i was lying in bed and i had the strangest feeling. i felt as if i had no time. or that i was running out of time to do everything that i want to do. it was wierd. joe racked it up to being in a new place and moving around so much in such a short span of time while having all these projects on my mind. makes sense. just gotta keep things in perspective. on that note i'll say "Auf Wiedersehen" and see what else i can do with this site before falling asleep! kevin
come away with me in the night... Nov 11, 2004 once again back from Corner Brook. I've spent so much time in buses and in cabs lately, it's very strange being back in the apartment. my trip was wonderful. My sweetheart was in a show at the college (The Comedy of Errors...) and she did a great job. I won't talk about the directing here, but if you see me and are interested I'll tell ya...straight up! We also went to a wedding and it was loverly. I had my first German lesson (hee hee) saw the movie The Incredibles (it was awesome!), walked to Captain Cook's Point (great view), tried to go bowling (damn those leagues) and had lot's of fun hanging out together. yes...i'm very happy. happier than i've been in a long time. ok, ok...enough with the mushy...what else is going on? -the Warhammer Online project has been discontinued. Very upsetting. Their webpage is just an apology from one of the head guys. arghh...well it was probably for the best since World of Warcraft was more than likely going to tear them up in sales. -Still working on the webpage of course. dice and cup needs to be finished. the art, music and old news sections have to be changed over. Gonna get back at the album now that I'm home. Big changes in store for it. Songs added, songs cut. Album title might even change. We shall see... -Buffy Season 7 should be out within a week. yah!!! It will be mine.... -feeling invigorated. ready to buckle down. to get some projects finished. to start doing things. don't know what it is, but i feel like i'm on artist steriods. strange. anyway, i'll wrap it up there. gute nacht!! kevin
